Twitter has been used by companies like Motrin to monitor conversations about their products. But no one has been able to add brand messages.
What if certain Twitter users allowed marketers access to their feeds. Then matched users in their database with advertisers. Then you would have an ad network to make revenue for Twitter and its users.
The three steps would be
1. The right to occasionally insert a tweet into a user's feed
2. Using Twitter API to see how many followers they have
3. Sell space on Tweets and keep refining system.
Why companies hesitate using Titter
A. Companies scared to put their brand in the conversation.
B. Most Twitters don't have enough followers to make this worth while.
C. Twitter might close your account.
